What is a Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna?

Sweating is your body's natural way of staying healthy. Our Full Spectrum Infrared Saunas are designed to give you a very relaxing and detoxifying experience through the use of infrared heat therapy.

Infrared light is part of the Sun’s invisible spectrum of light that has the ability to penetrate deep within human tissue, muscles and cells. Infrared heat therapy uses these infrared light characteristics to heat the body directly rather than just the air. During a session, infrared waves begin to penetrate your body creating a deep heating action, which activates the sweat glands that naturally eliminate and expel waste materials and toxins. Since skin is the largest organ in the human body, the deep heating of the sweat glands allows for a deep detoxifying sweat. Unlike sunbathing, infrared heat therapy is completely healthy and safe. You can relax in an infrared sauna and it will never cause your skin to burn.

What is Whole Body Cryotherapy?

Some are aware of the benefits of FAR infrared, but at SWEATEQUITY we offer full-spectrum infrared saunas, complete with Chromotherapy, which combines the benefits of near and mid infrared to increase the body’s core temperature faster thus resulting in a much deeper, more detoxifying sweat from the cellular level of the skin where many toxins are housed.

This also allows for improved blood circulation, reduced inflammation, increased recovery from fatigue, and wound healing by bringing more blood to an affected area. Traditional hot rock/heat saunas heat the air, which can often be unbearably hot and difficult to breathe, and will cause you to only sweat at the surface of the tissue. An infrared sauna uses soothing dry infrared heat that is well ventilated and extremely comfortable and relaxing. Infrared heat therapy has also been proven to assist with weight loss, pain relief, improved circulation and skin rejuvenation.

Today, many healthcare professionals use infrared heaters to treat a variety of diseases throughout the world.

Infrared Sauna Benefits

Infrared Sauna Benefits

Detoxification

Sweating is one of the body’s safest and most natural ways to heal and maintain good health. Detoxing in an infrared sauna rids your body of up to 7 times more toxins than a traditional or steam sauna. Daily detoxifying through infrared sauna therapy helps rid the body heavy metals, radiation, and environmental toxins.

Weight Loss

Want to burn 600 calories? As you relax in the comfort of your own sauna suite, your body is actually hard at work producing sweat, pumping blood, and burning calories. As your body increases sweat production to cool itself, your heart will work harder to pump blood at a greater rate to boost circulation. This increase in your metabolism will burn calories. Regular use may be as effective a means of cardiovascular conditioning and burning of calories as regular exercise.

Skin Health & Anti-Aging

Regular infrared sauna sessions will improve your skin appearance.  Sweating during your 40-minute session allows your body to detoxify nasty chemicals, pollutants and dirt lodged within the dermal layer.

Infrared heat increases the blood flow and brings essential nutrients to the surface of the skin - allowing your body to naturally glow, reducing wrinkles by improving skin tone and elasticity. Regular infrared sauna sessions have also been shown to improve skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis and eczema. Get glowing people!

Immune Boosting

Increased core body temperature engages the body’s natural mechanism to strengthen and accelerate the immune response. Bacteria and viruses can't survive under certain temperatures and this increased heating, combined with sweat elimination of toxins and waste, gives your immune system that added boost.

Pain Relief & Muscle Recovery

Forego the pain pills and step into one of our healing infrared saunas to relieve tension and relax muscles. Infrared sauna heat works by penetrating joints, muscles and tissues, increasing circulation and speeding oxygen flow by increasing core body temperature. By reducing soreness on nerve endings, infrared heat reduces muscle spasms and helps the body heal itself naturally.

Relaxation & Stress Relief

Unlike traditional saunas, Infrared saunas provide a gentle, soothing therapeutic heat that promotes relaxation and improved sleep. An infrared sauna session can help you unwind but it also decreases the production of cortisol, the main hormone for stress in the body. If you've had a rough day there's no better place to be than an infrared sauna.

Arrival & Departure

Plan out your sauna time! Please arrive on time or early. A session includes 40 minutes in the sauna, with 10 minutes to cleanse and change. We try to accommodate as many of our clients as possible, so we book the rooms back to back with enough time in between to clean and get things ready for the next client. Staying longer delays other guests. Because of this we ask that you arrive no later than 5 minutes prior to your appointment start time and make sure you vacate the room when your booked time is up. Additional time in the room is subject to a $2.00/minute charge. Please spend time in our rejuvenation lounge if you require additional time to unwind.

What to Wear

We will provide each client with a towel, as well as one towel to sit on. Extra towels are available at $2 each. Skin exposure is preferable – some like to wear their bathing suits or undergarments when in the sauna but most go in with just the towels we provide. We recommend clothing that is loose fitting and comfortable to put back on after your session.

Temperature

Infrared saunas heat the body, not the air, so the temperature inside the sauna is not to be confused with your body temperature or the quality of your sauna session. Please don't get fixated on the temperature the sauna reads.

Quick Tips

  • Drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated before, during and after your sauna session

  • If sauna becomes too hot or stuffy, you may open the door for a minute to let some fresh air inside. Stretching during your session creates more body flexibility. Massage congested and “knotty” muscle areas to help alleviate pains

  • Please remember to tightly close the door after your session to contain heat for the next client

  • Don’t hesitate to bring a friend, we have saunas that accommodate up to 4 people

  • After your session, it is important to relax and cool down while your body continues to sweat. Sit or recline with a towel or wrap around you for about 10 minutes

  • We do not recommend the sauna for pregnant women

  • Please no unsupervised children under the age of 12

  • Please lock the door behind you in the sauna room

  • Please no shoes in the sauna

  • Please do not eat in the sauna rooms

  • Please do not bring outside beverages into the sauna rooms

  • Please shut the glass doors gently and limit music volume if connecting to enabled Bluetooth

  • Please refrain from applying any oils or lotions to your skin prior to entering the sauna

  • Please enjoy the filtered, ionized, and alkaline water we provide in each room

Cancellations: We require cancellations more than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time. Paid sessions cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice will be forfeited. Paid sessions cancelled or rescheduled with more than 24 hours notice will be credited to your DistrictCryo Mindbody account for future use. If you are going to be late for your appointment, it will cut into your sauna time but we will try our best to accommodate if possible.

All sales are final. All sessions purchased expire one year from the date of purchase unless otherwise noted.
